Katy Albro
Katy Albro, married with three children, was a very active stay-at-home mother before she contracted COVID-19. After testing positive, her symptoms worsened, and she went to Moore County Hospital in her hometown of Dumas, TX.
Although Katy received excellent care at Moore County, her condition became critical. She eventually moved to Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo, TX, for a higher level of care. During her time at NWTH, she required intubation and a ventilator.
Once Katy stabilized, she continued her recovery at Vibra Hospital of Amarillo and then moved to Vibra Rehabilitation Hospital of Amarillo for extensive therapy. She said the staff took great care of her at both Vibra hospitals. “The staff was kind, supportive, and encouraging. Staff members Lan, Kim, Constance, Kira, Cathy, and Isabel were wonderful!”
During her stay, Katy was proud to reach a progress milestone of walking independently with a rollator. Her family was a huge motivator throughout her recovery. Katy was most excited to return home and enjoy home-cooked meals with her family. She will continue her recovery and hopes to become even stronger with home health therapies.
