Michael Rebstock

Before contracting COVID-19, Michael Rebstock and his family were “living the dream.” Michael worked from home and enjoyed playing tennis with his daughter.

At first, Michael experienced only mild symptoms, which he managed from home. But a few days later, he was taken to the ER at BSA Hospital, where he was admitted and intubated. After a few weeks, Michael required a tracheostomy and transferred to Vibra Hospital of Amarillo, a critical care hospital.

Michael made significant improvements medically at the critical care hospital and transferred to Vibra Rehabilitation Hospital of Amarillo.

“The hospitals and the staff are fantastic,” Michael shared. He especially noted Tonna and Pauline for their impact on his recovery. Michael found motivation both in seeing tangible evidence that he was getting better and in the daily visits from his wife.

Michael is excited to return home with his wife and resume his pre-COVID life. Though he doesn’t have big plans once he gets back home, Michael will continue working on his recovery and plans to find a routine that works for him.
