Terry Scott

After years in the jewelry business, Terry Scott wasn’t slowing down in retirement. Terry and his wife, Susie, enjoy sharing in everyday life activities like many retired couples. Much of his time has been spent sharing his master gardening skills with the community and getting creative with metal yard art.

That was until Terry contracted COVID-19.

Terry was admitted to the hospital for worsening respiratory symptoms and acute medical management. As his condition improved, Terry was ready to progress to the next stage of his recovery. His physicians recommended a transfer to Vibra Hospital of Amarillo. At Vibra, Terry would receive the close respiratory monitoring and visits from a pulmonologist that would be so important to his recovery.

The decision is one Terry is extremely pleased with, crediting the hospital’s staff for his continued recovery.

“The staff was spot on and very professional,” Terry said. “Nurse Melinda had the best attitude, Tech Diana was awesome, and the respiratory therapy department was all-around wonderful! And the food was amazing.”

Terry considers his recovery successful because he is looking forward, not back. Having reached his health goals, Terry returned home with his family and can’t wait to go fishing again and resume his hobbies.
